Family Christmas... finally!!

We have had so much snow this year that our family was not able to get together until yesterday.  We always have a "white elephant" exchange.  The fish dish pictured here has shown up almost every year.  I have always wanted to get it, but the opportunity never arose to steal it. THIS YEAR IT IS MINE... and it will stay mine. Never to return as a "white elepahant" again.  Don't ask why, because I don't know why I like it.  I want to find a home for the fish dish in my craft room.   What an inspiration piece!
The covered dish was purchased in Japan several years ago by one of my cousins.
Believe it or not we just got another two inches of snow on the ground!!!!!!  A record for our area.

Challenge At Vintage Veranda

I finished this card just before the deadline at Vintage Veranda... If you like vintage cards, stamping and friends that like the same this is a site you may want to visit.
I used several techniques I had never tried before.  The challenge was to use Tim Holtz "Twelve Days of Tags" as inspiration.

First, I inked the paper with the VersaFine Olympia Green using the TH Inking Tool, then added the Cranbery Alcohol Ink. Stamped the printed background with versamark then embossed it with clear embossing powder. After I painted over it with the Snow Cap Dabber. Let it dry till tacky then wiped it off. Inked edges with black. Used the Alcohol Ink on the grunge peices and added stickles. Added image to the ticket, stamped attached crown. Assembled card.
