Creative Paperclay® Bird Nest & Eggs!

I love collecting little things... even more I love making shadow boxes with the little things.  Sometimes I can't find everything I would like to put in a shadow box, so I make them!  I wanted a birds nest and couldn't find one small enough.  My Creative Paperclay® BIRD NEST with EGGS is the focal point.
Here is the finished nest!
To make the nests I took Creative Paperclay® and made long skinny noodles. Then laid them in a circular nest shape. The noodles are very delicate and were not adhered to each other.  When they were dried I used Sakura Crystal Lacquer to hold them together.
With small amounts of Creative Paperclay® I rolled out very small eggs!
Here is the nest and eggs in the center of the shadow box after they were painted with acrylic paint.
In this box a frozen Charlotte made of Creative Paperclay® is holding one of the eggs!
Here is one of the eggs balanced on a shoe from Monopoly sitting on a dollhouse chair.

In the back is a Creative Paperclay® heart cut with a mini cookie cutter, painted with burgundy acrylic paint.
Left over from a previous project the bird is made with Creative Paperclay® in a mold!

Just think of the endless items you could create with Creative Paperclay® to add to your collection of little things to make a shadow box!

Steampunk Airship!

This month I had a great time creating the
Steampunk Airship Kit!

To make this I used the Steampunk Airship Kit, Piccolo Accents: from Floral Whimsy the swirls were used on the top and Vintage Gears Embellishments Set for the additional gears inside the the turn key in the front. Piccolo Enamel Powders and Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive and Glastique Gloss Finishing Gaze to glue the airship together.
Below is a picture of the kit... you may notice I have a lot more gears in my finished airship.

Pictured here is what is include in the kit!

All pieces were covered with Piccolo Enamel Powders and Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive.  Colors used were: Vintage Gold, Vintage Silver, Copper Kettle, Mermaid Tears and Glided Rose Gold.

Before adding the bubble these pictures were taken.
Here you can see the dimension of the gears.

To lift the gears I took the centers of some of the gears  in the Vintage Gears Embellishments Set and glued two to three together to lift a gear up.  Making sure the placement would not be hindered when the bubble frame was added.

Here is a look at the other side...

If you notice the exhaust on the back, the are left over pieces from some swirls I punched out for another project. I keep all the pieces... You never know when you may be able to use them on a project!!!

If you love Steampunk...
this is a must have kit for you.

I use journals to try techniques and test my stamps.  On this page of my journal I was playing with texture and numbers to see when stamped what they looked like. I must say I am pleased with my number stamps! In addition to the numbers there is a set of lower case alphas.

Starting with a white page in my Clairfontaine journal I sprayed it with Sandlewood LuminArte Shimmering Mist. With two sizes of Punchinello from Gauche Alchemy stencil the background.  Inks from right to left: ColorBox Fluid Chalk Burnt Sienna, CTMH Red Barn, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Barn Door and ColorBox Fluid Chalk Alabaster.

On top of the stenciled backgroung randomly stamp the numbers to see how the look.  The journal paper had a little texture and a couple look better on smooth paper so I stamped them on ledger paper and adhered them to the journal page.

HAVE FUN WITH NUMBRS!!!!

The numbers are sold as PLATE 1430 only.

Finished Paris Book

Finally my finished Paris Chipboard Album
with
and MORE!

Cover with ribbons!

Back side of page with laser Eiffel Tower.  Before I attached the Eiffel Tower to the front side of the page I used it as a stencil on the back.  Painted the page pink, then with the laser image on the surface, rubbed ink over it. Then adhered paper to the page that was torn ti outline the shape of the Eiffel tower. Sealed the page with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer and Terri Sproul Mixer - Pink Saphire. BlingMaquis Silver Rhinestone Design from Want2Scrap. On the opposite page I adhered images from Retro Cafe Art with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer. Embellished with an altered bottle cap with an image of Paris and a few Robin's Nest Dew Drops

Last page of the book... laser cut "PARIS" & Eiffel Tower with Want2Scrap bling swirls cut from Jumbo Flower! Added a bit of Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer with Terri Sproul Mixer - Pink Saphire.

One more look at the finished book!

August Creative Paperclay® Quick Tip

Today I would like to share my tip for working with Creative Paperclay® and large unmounted stamps.  In this demo I rolled my Creative Paperclay® on a transparency placed of a glass surface.  It is easier to remove the clay from a flexible transparency rather than a stiff glass surface.  Note: A craft sheet would work also.
In May (HERE) my tip was all about  rolling out Creative Paperclay® it is important to keep the thickness of the clay consistent. To do this I use foam-core board.  I put two or three pieces together for the thickness I desire. Make sure the thickness of the foam-core is deeper than the image on the stamp.

Once you have the desired size of Creative Paperclay® rolled out gently lay the stamp on the clay. Careful not to press on the stamp before you intend to.  Roll the rolling pin over the entire stamp applying even pressure.

Use a craft knife and slowly cut around the stamped image.

Once the image is air dried  remove the ruff edges using sandpaper and a emery board.  Check out the detail of the image!

VLVS! Stamp-boards in my Clairfontaine Journal

I have always wanted to try my hand at a stamp-board, you may ask what am I referring to? Instead of always having to buy your background papers for your cards and scrapbooking make your own!
With my awesome journal from Clairfontaine I have been dabbling with stamp-boards.  The 83lb paper is the perfect weight, I have sprayed each page with a mist before stamping and they didn’t buckle!

All pages were misted first, set aside to dry and stamped.  All stamps are from Viva Las Vegastamps!
